New Technology in Production

The area which i have chosen to do some research on is Digital Cinematography. It was only fully established 10 years ago. This means that instead of recording to film, it is now possible to record the footage onto tape, hard disk or memory stick. As long as the camera is digital.
The first film which was recorded fully digital was ‘Star Wars ll’, which was released in 2002. This lead to other films to use this technology as well. Such as, ‘Sin City’ and ‘Superman Returns’.

At the beginning of late 1980s. Sony was the company that began the concept of ‘electronic cinematography.’ It had little success. In 1998, the start of high definition camcorders, video cameras based on charged couple devices technology, this idea is no known as ‘digital cinematography.’ I had got this information from,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_cinematography#History

Digital Cinematography has been revolutionized. This can be seen through high definition and 3D. HD is a upgraded version of digital video. This having a higher DPI than other films. Meaning that the quality of the picture is much better. It is also very easy to edit. In the last 10 years.New digital techniques, using high HD DV and high quality film stock, letting 3D effects be better than ever. Allowing the audience to get involved in the film, they use 3D effect glasses, which plays a trick on their mind. Making them think that the picture is coming out of the screen. Making a new phase in the film industry.

New media technology, has had an impact on the audience, with digital cinematography. The audience is now able to record things easier. They can simply use a camcorder to record their things and then, with the use of the tape transfer their footage on to the computer. For example, with my media. For my media i had to record a preliminary exercise, it had to be based around someone walking to a room, where another person maybe and then exchanging some dialouge. The storyline was up to us. The use of the digital cinematography allowed me to film it on a portable camcorder, allowing the footage that i have filmed be filmed on a tape. Making it very easy for me to transfer my footage on to the computer, for editing.
